The jewel in crown of Bankura district. The elegant contours of Bengal’s Temple architecture are epitomised in exquisite 17th and 18th century terracotta temples. Strains of the classical Dhrupad of the Vishnupur gharana echo through the homeland of the renowned artist. The stylised 'Bankura Horse', symbolic of excellence in rural handicrafts, is native to this ditrict.

Situated in the confluence of river Kangsabati and Kumari. Green forest surround the vast bluish tract of water, Hillocks are essentially a dream come here. The undulating terrain along the southern edge of the Kangsabati Water Reservoir spreads as a three-dimensional necklace of green and Terracotta colour. The stand-till water of the reservoir look like a large blue tinted glass mirror reflecting the vast expanse of sky over it. You must also experience the moonlit night around the reservoir .

Located close to the district’s western borders, Jhargram is at the heart of natural forest regions of West Midnapur. Large, lush and dense natural forests of tropical hardwoods give the visitor a back-to-nature feeling. Woods of shaal, piyal, and mahua trees and, to a lesser extent, cashew trees, can also be found. Seasonal variations add to nature’s charms in the forests of Jhargram. Moonlit nights carry the mystique of woody fragrances from shaals and piyals. Red gravel pathways daintily encircle the trees.
